Say it isn't so...

Three people were injured when a 70-foot charter sailboat (Neptunes Car) collided with a 22-foot motor boat about a mile off of Alki Point around 3 p.m. Monday. Coast Guard and Seattle police boats responded to the scene. Two passengers of the sailboat as well as the operator of the runabout were taken to West Seattle to a waiting emergency medical crew for minor injuries.

A large hole was visible in the left side of the sailboat where the bow of the smaller motor boat had punched through. The vessel began taking on water, but rescuers were able to stop the flooding, the Coast Guard said. Emergency crews used smaller boats to ferry the passengers back to land. The sailboat was able to return to port under its own power.

While the circumstances of the collision are under investigation, looking at the pictures it would seem the powerboat will be the clear loser in this one...
