And the winner is.....

A thin layer of fog did not stop the AYC sailors from enjoying one more chance to sheet the rags home and turn back the tranquil waters of Fidalgo Bay. A very certain local Halibut fisherman ably assisted by the Abelist of all blew the horn and flew the flags and two competitive races were completed. Our voluminous new club now nearly completed was filled with the savory smells of fine victuals and the bartender kept the taps pressed to the end stops. Everyone walked home with a souvenir of the year's racing, if you bought a packet and didn't get one email Steph or your former RC to make arrangements. This year just the same as last the coveted Yacht of the Year trophy was not decided until the final race, Viti Rocks. Three boats met the eligibility requirements, Little Annie, Syndicat, and Kymodoce. This year it was Kyle Saum and crew aboard Kymodoce that accepted the award, gave a heartfelt thanks to his competitors and probably enjoyed a stiff drink for a job well done. Let's pray for wind in 2014 and don't forget to give the 'Round the County racers a heapin helpin of AYC hospitality Friday Nov. 8th!
