Light Up the Night

Holiday tradition continues tonight with the lighted boat parade. The POA has generously provided free moorage for all the boats on C dock, So grab a string of lights and some egg nog to share and head for C-dock. Rumor has it that if the weather cooperates there may also be a chance to head out onto that whale pasture. Some may remember before Cap Sante Boatyard got chased out of the basin and the Dicksons used to doll up their 100+ converted minesweeper "Cairdeas" to lead the way. Trivial pursuit prize to any member that can remember the names of the two matching tri-hull tenders she carried on deck, one which was converted to become the AYC chase boat.
In other news...
When you remember dues also pay your PHRF dues, if you have a new sail you need to get that measured too, Scott Lindberg our newest member is our club handicapper and can get you started if you need help. Also the safety rules have changed  from PIYA to ISAF so if you are headed to any major regattas you may need to update your flares, lifelines, radar reflector and the like. The Seattle Boat Show is scheduled for Jan 24-Feb 2nd, it might be fun to get a group of members rent a bus and make a day of it. BYC has done this for over 30 years and it has become so popular they now run two buses. If you are looking for a warm up before the Girts Rekevics Foul Weather Race/Cruise, the 'Round Shaw Island Winter Classic is scheduled for Feb 16th, Sunday.
