Git'er Done

In the words of Larry the Cable Guy it's time to make it happen. The NOR for the Girts Rekevics Memorial Foulweather race /cruise to Friday Harbor is up on this website and something unprecedented in the annals of yachting history has happened, the price has actually gone down from last year! Yes, you read that correctly. the dinner that SJIYC put together last year was so popular and they sold so many they actually exceeded their revenue goals and this year have agreed to knock two American greenbacks off the price. (For those scoring at home that is enough money to purchase a delicious Miller Lite at the AYC bar, currently in a new retro promotional all aluminum can!) Racers and cruisers alike  have enjoyed this annual rite of spring for well over 40 years here at AYC. In years past this rendezvous has been at Rosario (remember the hot tub?), the Islander @ Lopez (remember the hot tub?), and for the last several years Friday Harbor. You can also travel via the ferry and join the fun if your yacht is dry stored or if you are between vessels. Speaking of needing a boat the largest boat show on the West coast is fast approaching. The Seattle Boat Show Jan 24-Feb 2nd is just the place to find a new ride. Several other local clubs have a tradition of loading a bus and making a day of it, why not AYC? No, you won't miss the Seahawks in the Superbowl, if (when) they make it the show is cancelled that day. (no kidding) Also for you racer types out there if you have a new sail or rudder or haven't renewed your PHRF membership now is the time to do it, if you are a newbie contact member Scott Lindberg our local handicapper and he can help get you started. SOOOO if you haven't done so already sign up for the Foulweather Race/Cruise so they know how much lasagna (also veggie) to make and come join the fun!
