Wanna be a Ham?

Ham Radio Class
When power, phone and Internet services go down, a battery-powered amateur radio can provide that crucial link to the outside world. No longer must you install all of the fancy electronics and antennae of years past. You can help in a disaster with only a $35 handheld. But you need to know how to use it and a license.

Red Cross is offering a free class. I'm told that you can't fail the licensing test after taking this class. Testing will take place on the last day of the course. There is a $25 book required, available at the class.

Oct 13-24, 2014. M-W-F 6-9 pm at the American Red Cross office at 2900 T Ave in Anacortes.
