Life begins at 40! Just looking through the years results we have had nearly 40 different AYC boats competing in our racing program. There are so many new faces and so many good times happening on Wednesday nights. Come join the fun.
Tonight is an especially good night to get started either on the water or simply to enjoy a burger at the club. The on the water action features the second generation of the AYC Bottles clan with the third generation typically on board as helpers manning the RC duties. The galley crew tonight is the Roethle clan with their famous Greek Feta salad. They are fresh back from cruising the Gulf Islands and apparently with the BC economy in the tank they were able to get mooring balls and a seat at the pub.
If you want to get started on the racing scene check with Erik Beemer or Colin Emsley. Usually there is a grace period for a couple nights while you get all the paperwork in line.
In other news:
The AYC was out in full force for our nations 239th birthday with a raft up, Laser sailing and plenty of yachts sporting old Glory.
The Dolphin II ownership syndicate has purchased a new ride that looks well prepared, it should be since it was former scout boat.
The local Santana (TUNA) 20 fleet is growing, and there are couple good values on SC-27's and Viper 640's if you are interested in the one design thing.
The Etchells fleets are growing in Bellingham, Pt Ludlow and Lopez Island, maybe it's time the AYC joined in?
Northern Century is only a month away and also will have the 50 mile option. DH or fully crewed your choice!
