Round and round we go!

What's more fun than a room full of sailors on a Friday night? Well just add chili, cornbread, music and videos and now you have a party. In this case it's this Friday the 6th and it's the "Round the County party. Doors open at 1700 and chili at 1800. Checkout OIYC for all the details regarding the race. 115 entries, 13 flying the scarlet letter AYC burgee. The start is off Lydia Shoal Saturday at 0830hrs so at least 50 of these competitors stage out of Anacortes. This is where you come in. Come join the party at AYC and show these outa towners what AYC hospitality is all about. The crowd will include former gold medalists from both the US and Canada as well as numerous National Champions like our very own Stephanie Schwenk fresh off her SC-27 victory this past summer. Take a wander down the docks this Friday and checkout some gorgeous sailing eye candy, don't miss the brand newly rebuilt Davidson 72 Cassiopeia at the end of B-dock. With a 100' mast and a 13' 6" keel she will be the AYC flagship for this edition of this legendary race. Hopefully for those adventurous souls a Southerly breeze will make for some pleasant sight seeing Sunday around noon as the fleet bowls North under colorful spinnakers up Rosario Strait. Pack a picnic lunch and head for Washington Park. Added bonus this year will be a skype lash up to OIYC for the 1945hrs skippers meeting streamed live from OIYC. Everyone is welcome! Especially when it comes time to clean up at 2200hrs or thereabouts, you know you want to feel like you were part of the action so come grab a broom or a washcloth and help me out:)
